It’s always great to see Gregg Gillis/Girl Talk doing well. A friend of the show, and a chill guy, we always meet up with him and his crew and throw down hardcore when we can get together. (Have a listen to our interview with Gregg here) If you’ve ever seen him live, you know that his shows are second to none in energy and danceability. As a matter of fact, his album Night Ripper is on my all-time favorite album list. Anyway, Gregg’s latest album, All Day, has gotten the screwed and chopped treatment from DJ OG Ron C. Read on and download the greatness!

In the midst of a non-stop touring run, Girl Talk (aka Gregg Gillis) linked up with legendary Houston producer and DJ OG Ron C to present a screwed and chopped version of Gillis’ last full length release, All Day.
The remixed version of the album is being titled Purple All Day and is available for download here:

Gillis’ audio collage work has referenced the screwed and chopped sound since his first release in 2002, and throughout his career he has sampled many of the key players in Houston’s hip-hop scene, ranging from old school heroes U.G.K. to newer artists such as Kirko Bangz. ”It’s an honor for OG Ron C to give my album the screwed and chopped treatment. I’ve been listening to his mixes for a long time. I love his work,” says Gillis.
OG Ron C started Swishahouse Records with Michael “5000″ Watts in 1995, and it quickly became one of the most well known outlets for screwed and chopped mixtapes in the Houston area. Since then, he’s been a fixture in the Houston hip-hop scene, helping to launch careers of people including Slim Thug and Mike Jones. On Purple All Day, OG Ron C says, “This was an amazing collab. Girl Talk’s sense of creativity and blends are incredible, it’s almost like a timewarp slingshot of some sort that makes u feel futuristic and historical all in one with the way he mixes old with new. Wow! I really enjoyed adding some Southern H-Town Purple flavor to it.”
