The Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival was informed yesterday that Mumford & Sons had to cancel their Saturday headlining appearance due to bassist Ted Dwane’s medical condition. In Mumford & Sons’ place, festival organizers are pleased to announce that Jack Johnson will now headline Bonnaroo on Saturday night.

Bonnaroo wishes Ted a speedy recovery and looks forward to the band returning to the festival.

I was on my way to Bonnaroo to sit in on a set with my friends ALO last night when we got the call asking if I could possibly help out and cover for Mumford and Sons. I heard the news about Ted Dwane and was happy to know that he was on his way to recovery. I called my band and asked if they were up for it. Long story short – they are headed this way. I’ve got a lot of lyrics and chords to relearn by Saturday night. I was here to play the first Bonnaroo and it is a very special festival to my band. We are excited to hit the stage again. Get well Ted!

Dear friends,

It is with great joy that we can announce that Ted has been discharged from hospital and is on the road to a full recovery. The surgery went well, and the excellent medical team helping him are very pleased with his progress. He has been nothing short of heroic in how he has handled the whole ordeal, and now it has been medically proved that he does indeed have a brain.

Today, however, also marks the end of our Summer Stampede Tour. We were hoping to have made it out by Bonnaroo this weekend. But it is with sadness that we have to announce the cancellation of our scheduled performances at both Bonnaroo and Telluride Festivals, and our show at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, KS. If we could’ve we would’ve, you know that about us. We trust that you can respect our collective desire to encourage Ted to make a full recovery, and that this is based purely on the medical advice we have received.

On behalf of Ted, and all of us really, we would like to thank every one for their compassion and support at this time and we are very excited to get back out on tour as soon as we can.

Moe Train’s Tracks and Black Sabbath (never thought we’d be hearing that in the same breath) team up to bring you a sneak peak into Sabbath’s first studio album in THIRTY FIVE YEARS.  Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, and Geezer Butler sat down for an interview with Jim Norton, and introduce several of the tracks off of 13.  The original members of Black Sabbath were joined at the sessions by drummer Brad Wilk (Rage Against The Machine), so you know that the drumming will be loud, in your face, and tight as hell.  The album was produced by the genius Rick Rubin (seven-time Grammy winner, two of those as Producer of the Year), and will be released on Vertigo (worldwide) and Vertigo/Republic in the U.S.

Fifteen of Legend’s 16 tracks have been remixed by top DJs/producers. Pokey LaFarge recently signed a major record deal to be Jack White’s label mate at Third Man Records, with album production by Old Crow Medicine Show frontman Ketch Secor. How can a revisited sound can sound so new and fresh? Not only is his storytelling intriguing and engaging, but his musical chops are refreshing and envigorating.

Our staff hasn’t said this in quite a while, but this album is a true “front to backer.” There aren’t any standouts. The entire album is a trip through prohibition’s shining moments, and leaves you feeling more satisfied than a fresh batch of shine.

Pokey Lafarge’s self-titled album is sure to make your front porch chilling, barbecue havin’, down-home good time soundtrack this long, long summer. Sharon Jones has been diagnosed with stage-one bile duct cancer, which has fortunately been discovered early and has not spread. It is expected that the immediate proposed surgical solution will lead to a full recovery, but because of its invasive and complex nature, will necessitate a rather lengthy convalescence.

Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings will be back before you know it, with a new release date and rescheduled tours worldwide.

Sharon would like her fans to know that she is anxious to get back on her feet, and that she is “down, but not out!”

“Over the last few weeks I haven’t felt good and I didn’t know what was going on. We sadly had to cancel shows while I went through a series of tests and short hospital stays. We just found out that I have a stage-one tumor on my bile duct. Luckily we caught it really early and fast and the doctors say it’s operable and curable!
I will be having surgery very soon and will have to rest and recover. I’ll be staying in touch and keeping my fans and friends updated on my progress. I’m looking forward to getting back on the road to give the people what they want!”
