Kings of Leon – Come Around Sundown (7.1/10)

It’s the bands who don’t care about being rockstars that usually deserve to be rockstars, and now KOL genuinely cares; such a disappointment.  On Sundown, in an effort to tighten-up, their sound evolves with a heavy influence of generic and they consciously omit much of the southern garage-rock soulfulness that so made them so singular.

Admittedly, had this been the first time that I heard Kings of Leon, I’d probably be raving about Sundown but, that not being the case, I have and I hold them to a higher standard.
