Pretty Lights Announces Illumination Tour

Pretty Lights is going on tour in North America for the first time in 2012 with beautiful & evolved NEW music and massive, game-changing NEW production. With 50+ dates from coast to coast, Pretty Lights will undoubtedly be bringing the non-stop hip-hop, party rocking, bass blasting extravaganza to somewhere near you.

As one of electronic music’s only composer/performers who ONLY plays original music and performs it live instead of mixing tracks, it’s safe to say that Pretty Lights goes far beyond the label DJ. The shows will vary every night, as much as the styles that PL produces. Derek Vincent Smith (Pretty Lights) and his crew of visual artists, designers, videographers, and editors have been hard at work preparing a show that is far from your average electronic show. It will be organic, synchronized, beautiful, hands on, AND very cutting edge to say the least.

I’ve completely switched up my process of producing & composing. It is being created from all originally composed samples off of self made vinyl and all analog modular synthesis. It is and has truly been a massive undertaking, and there are many more surprises in store besides what I’ve mentioned, including a mini documentary about the making of the album. Soon people will see why I’ve put so much time into this collection of music. I’m bringing the true album back. Prolific, conceptual, consistent, yet extremely diverse, and a real substantial piece of music you can sink your teeth into, not a flimsy EP or an album filled with remixes.
