The inaugural Ride Festival – happening August 25 and 26, 2012 in Telluride, Colorado – today announces Lucinda Williams and Jimmy Herring to the already stellar lineup. They join the previously confirmed Big Head Todd & The Monsters, Ben Harper, Los Lobos, JJ Grey & Mofro, The Lumineers, North Mississippi Allstars, The Wood Brothers, James McMurtry, David Lindley, Nathaniel Rateliff, Matthew Curry & The Fury and Jeffrey Foucault for what promises to be one of the most rootsy, rocking lineups of the summer. The announcement of The Ride Festival caps an already jam-packed summer for Big Head Todd & The Monsters, who will soon head out with the Barenaked Ladies’ “Last Summer on Earth” tour. The tour, which also features Blues Traveler and Cracker, was picked for Rolling Stone Magazine’s recent list “The 10 Hottest Summer Package Tours of 2012.” Launching July 6th at the Toledo Zoo Amphitheatre in Toledo, OH, “Last Summer on Earth” hits more than 30 arenas and amphitheaters across the country through mid-August. But before that, Big Head Todd & The Monsters kick off their summer on June 9th with their annual play at Red Rocks Amphitheatre; this year’s show is already SOLD OUT.
