five years. Fourteen albums. Most bands are lucky to get a second record out of the machine, and Clutch just announced number fourteen like it's nothing.
Wasted Lands drops January 22 on their own Weathermaker Music, and the title track is already out there doing push-ups. Neil Fallon says the record runs from the rubble of the Georgia Guidestones to an exploding star, with stops at haunted coal towns, robber barons, time cops, and a creature called Neil Patrick Fallon. That last one might be my favorite thing anyone has put in a press release all year.

I sat down with these guys back in the day for the old site, and they were exactly as advertised. Loud, funny, zero pretense. If the new single is any sign, album fourteen is going to melt faces the way the first thirteen did.
