ProgPower USA is heading into a new era, and the person steering it is someone who started out as a fan in the crowd.
Glenn Harveston founded this festival and ran it for over two decades. Now he is retired, and co-promoter Milton Mendonca has taken the helm. His first ProgPower was 24 years ago as an attendee. He says he met some of his best friends there, and there was no way he could let it end. That is exactly the kind of person you want running a festival like this.
The 2027 edition moves to a three-day format, September 9 to 11 at Center Stage in Atlanta. The lineup so far: Nevermore, Eluveitie, Wind Rose, Unleash The Archers, H.E.A.T, Lynch Mob, Masterplan, Metal Church, Vision Divine, and more, with one band still to be announced.
Nevermore on that bill is the name that jumps off the page. One of the most respected progressive metal bands ever, on the ProgPower stage. If you have ever wanted to do this festival, 2027 is the year. Details and tickets on their site.
