When Mutt Lange produces your record, you have my attention.
Crossbone Skully, the band Tommy Henriksen built between Alice Cooper and Hollywood Vampires gigs, just announced their sophomore album Condemned to Rock n' Roll. It arrives January 29 on earMUSIC, and the new single Riding With Angels is out now.
Fourteen tracks, and the inspiration list reads like a record collection I want to raid: '80s metal, classic rock, pop, country, everything in between. Henriksen's whole thing is that he never picked rock and roll. It picked him, and it refuses to let go. That is a T-shirt waiting to happen.
The band features Alice Cooper guitarist Anna 'Blackthorn' Cara, and the behind-the-boards crew is stacked: Mutt Lange executive producing, Mike Plotnikoff and Olle Romo engineering, Howie Weinberg mastering, Jay Ruston mixing. The earlier single Thunder Love featured Phil Collen, so clearly these guys call the best in the business and the best in the business picks up.
Riding With Angels is streaming now. If the rest of the record hits like the lineup suggests, January cannot come fast enough.
