Two audiences walk into an amphitheater. One smells like patchouli, the other smells like BBQ and diesel. They are all dreaming the same dream.
Ziggy Marley and Gov't Mule just kicked off a 16-show co-headlining run, the Dreaming the Same Dream Tour. It started September 23 at Pier 17 in New York, rolls through the Southeast, and wraps with a four-show Texas finale in mid-October. YOLA handles the nightly DJ sets, which is a lineup choice with real taste.
The tour name comes from a song Warren Haynes and Ziggy wrote together years back. They have shared stages for years but never toured together, and Haynes says that is the point: Mule fans hear Ziggy, Ziggy fans hear Mule, everybody wins.

I sat down with Ziggy back in the day, and his whole vibe is exactly what this pairing needs. Reggae royalty and jam rock royalty on one stage. Do not overthink it, just go.
