Right now, this exact weekend, more than 140 bands are taking over Discovery Park in Sacramento. Aftershock kicked off Thursday and runs through Sunday, across five stages with gates at 11 in the morning every day.
Thursday was My Chemical Romance on the main stage at 8:25, celebrating 20 years of The Black Parade. The Offspring hit the Shockwave stage at 7:20 and Killswitch Engage closed out the Faultline. Not a bad way to start a weekend.
Tonight it is Limp Bizkit headlining at 9:45, with Wu-Tang Clan right before them at 7:35. Read that again. Wu-Tang into Limp Bizkit. Cypress Hill and Public Enemy are on the same day. Friday is absolutely stacked.
Saturday belongs to Pierce The Veil at 9:25, with BABYMETAL, A Day To Remember headlining the Shockwave stage, and a Circa Survive reunion set, one of their first shows since 2021. Then Sunday: Danny Elfman at 6:15, Queens of the Stone Age, and Tool closing the whole thing out at 8:25.
They are doing anniversary sets all weekend too. Full Collapse turns 25, Drowning Pool plays Sinner in full, Municipal Waste celebrates 25 years. This festival understands the assignment.
First year they have camping as well, out at Cal Expo with a Wednesday pre-party. If you are in Sacramento this weekend, you already know. If you are not, start planning for next year.
