Amon Amarth's thirteenth album is out today. Row accordingly.

The Allfather Awakens dropped Friday on Metal Blade, ten songs deep with an acoustic track, of all things. They ditched the 5150s for Marshalls and are touring a brand new Oden's Golden Hall stage production starting this week.

Album thirteen is out, and the Swedes are not slowing down.

The Allfather Awakens dropped Friday on Metal Blade, ten songs of exactly what you want from this band. The singles Gjallarhorn and Eight Legs of Thunder are already out there, and the record also carries Upphaf, their first ever acoustic song. An acoustic Amon Amarth track. Never thought I would type that.

Fun studio detail:

they recorded with Jacob Hansen in Denmark and went back to Marshall amps this time instead of the 5150s. Small change, big riffs.

They are also hitting the road this week with a brand new stage production built around Oden's Golden Hall. First show is October 9 in Manchester, then all over the UK and Europe through mid-November. If you have ever wanted to see a Viking metal stage show done right, this is the one.
