The punk rock Avengers just announced a new album

Fake Names, with members of Bad Religion, Refused, Minor Threat, and Rocket From The Crypt, drops Punk Ruins on October 23 via Epitaph. Twelve songs cut in five days, vocals done in one. Then a 2027 tour.

This band should not work on paper, and that is exactly why it works.

Fake Names just announced their third album, Punk Ruins, out October 23 on Epitaph. The new single If You Could See Me Today has a lyric video out now. The lineup is stacked: Brian Baker from Minor Threat, Dag Nasty, and Bad Religion on guitar, Michael Hampton from S.O.A. and Embrace on the other guitar, Dennis Lyxzén from Refused singing, Johnny Temple from Girls Against Boys on bass, and Mario Rubalcaba from Rocket From The Crypt and OFF! on drums. That is a punk rock hall of fame in one band photo.

They cut twelve songs in five days at Electrical Audio in Chicago with Matthew Barnhardy from Superchunk producing. Lyxzén did all his vocals in one day. Some bands spend five days picking a snare sound.

They are touring it in early 2027 too: Europe starting January 28 in Paris, then the US leg kicks off February 18 in Brooklyn with stops in DC, Philly, LA, Chicago, and Detroit. Mark it down.
