The Sword and Zombi decided to make a doom record together and honestly, that sentence sold me before I heard a note.
The project is called Autumn Tomb. Steve Moore from Zombi is on guitar, vocals, lyrics, and synths, with Bryan Richie and Santiago Vela from The Sword on bass and drums. The self-titled debut drops November 6 on Spaceflight Records.
It is five songs, all long. The shortest one, Golgatha, is still almost six minutes. Crumbling Thrones is streaming now and it is nearly ten minutes of slow, heavy, detuned sludge with dark synths crawling through it. Put your phone down and just listen.
Physical copies are properly limited:
500 on 180-gram vinyl in three variants, 100 cassettes, and streaming for everyone else. If you want one of those records, do not sleep on it.
