Beyonce opened her tour on a metallic tank and it only got bigger from there

36 songs, seven acts, three hours in Stockholm. The Renaissance World Tour is the most visually insane thing she has ever done.

Beyonce is back on tour for the first time since 2018, and she opened the whole thing standing on a metallic tank. I repeat: a metallic tank. In Stockholm. That was the tone for the next three hours.

Thirty six songs across seven acts at Friends Arena last night. The Renaissance album finally got its live moment, Cuff It, Alien Superstar, Break My Soul, Heated, Virgo's Groove, all of it, with two robot arms joining her for Cozy. Then the classics rolled through: Crazy in Love, Drunk in Love, Formation, Love on Top.

The covers and samples were the fun part. Mary J. Blige's I'm Goin' Down. Jay-Z and Kanye's Lift Off. A Toxic sample inside Thique. Lil Uzi Vert's Just Wanna Rock dance crashing into Diva. She closed with Summer Renaissance and the whole building levitated.

Europe gets her through June, then Toronto on July 8 and across North America into September. If the opener is any indication, this is the new standard for what a stadium show looks like.
