Remember when I said weekend two had catching up to do? Forget it. Weekend two lapped weekend one and it was not close. People online are already saying if you go to Coachella, go week two.
Friday night broke the internet. Sabrina Carpenter swapped the Juno pose for Madonna. The actual Madonna. They did Vogue, Like a Prayer, and a brand new song called Bring Your Love from her upcoming album. Geena Davis took over the monologue from Susan Sarandon, which is a deep cut Thelma and Louise nod, and Terry Crews replaced Will Ferrell as the electrician and sang A Thousand Miles. You cannot make this stuff up.
Saturday was Bieber's revenge tour. Same stripped back setup, but this time he worked the front of the stage and brought the cavalry: SZA for Snooze, Billie Eilish, who he serenaded with One Less Lonely Girl while she just stood there blushing, Sexyy Red, Big Sean, and Dijon again. He closed with Daisies.
Karol G came back Sunday with J Balvin, Ryan Castro, Peso Pluma for QLONA, and Becky G again for Mamiii.
The undercard went off too. PinkPantheress turned her birthday set into a party with Zara Larsson, Janelle Monae on guitar, and a Ninajirachi DJ set. Addison Rae brought out Olivia Rodrigo and they debuted Rodrigo's new single Drop Dead live. The Strokes shook up their whole setlist, dropped Last Nite, and closed with a political video montage that is going to be talked about for a while. Giveon brought out Snoop Dogg and Teddy Swims.
Weekend two wins. It is not a debate.
