Oasis are back and 16 years melted away in one night

Liam and Noel hugged on stage in Cardiff as Oasis played their first show in 16 years. Hello opened, Champagne Supernova closed, and nobody wanted it to end.

Sixteen years. That is how long we waited, and Oasis made it feel like sixteen seconds.

Friday night at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Liam and Noel Gallagher walked out together and opened with Hello, a song they had not played live since 2002. The message was clear: it is good to be back.

Twenty three songs. Acquiesce, Morning Glory, Cigarettes and Alcohol, Supersonic, Live Forever, Rock N Roll Star. Noel took Talk Tonight, Half The World Away, and Little By Little, then the encore run of The Masterplan, Don't Look Back In Anger, Wonderwall, and Champagne Supernova. Seven minutes of Champagne Supernova to close the first night. Good luck following that.

The moments between the songs hit just as hard. Liam thanked everyone for waiting around. There were jokes about the dynamic pricing mess. A tribute to Diogo Jota during Live Forever. And at the very end, Liam and Noel hugged on stage while the biggest roar of the night went up.

NME gave it five stars. Sixteen years gone, just like that.
