Talk about a title that grabs you by the collar. Italian modern metal band Secret Rule just released the video for Someone Killed the Pope, the title track of their eleventh studio album, out February 5 on Rockshots Records.
Vocalist Angela Di Vincenzo says the title is deliberately provocative, but the song is really about what happens when something everyone treats as untouchable starts falling apart. The Pope is a metaphor for the structures nobody questions, until somebody does. The second verse is about a truth someone tries to silence, and another voice rising in its place. Heavy in every sense of the word.
Guitarist Andy Menario wrote and produced it, pushing the band's sound harder after the first single Edge of Control. Bigger guitars, electronics, cinematic orchestration, and a breakdown that will rearrange your furniture.

October 5 through 23 across Europe, supporting Xandria and Seven Spires, with stops in Berlin, Warsaw, Prague, and Budapest. Eleven albums deep and still swinging. Go watch the video.
