Thundermother just announced their seventh album, Mothers of Thunder, out February 5 on Napalm Records. The first single is called Bimbo Boost.
Here's the fun part. The song takes the Smoke on the Water riff, the most famous riff in rock history, and plays it backwards. The point is about the pressure on women in rock to look perfect on stage in ways nobody demands from the guys. That is a power move. You do not touch the holy riff unless you mean it.
These four have been grinding for years. They've opened for the Scorpions and Judas Priest, tore through Wacken, Summer Breeze, and Sweden Rock, and put out their first live album this year.
Now they're taking the new record across Europe next spring, starting February 19 in Utrecht and running through April. If the album hits as hard as the single, those shows are going to be a problem in the best way.
